My condolences to the family of Bob Thiel. I met Bob through United Life meetings & trips and thoroughly enjoyed Bob's personality. My fondest memory of Bob was when he sat down one evening at a vacant piano in the Marriott Hotel in Kauaii, Hawaii. He shared his gift of music with a gathering crowd of United Life agents/spouses. I wished he could have played all night long. When he called it a night, we all gave him a standing ovation! I didn't know Bob well, but what I do know is he was a great human being with a love for life that we should all have. Our deepest condolences, Dean & Terri Haaland Grimes, Iowa

Rhoda, our thoughts and prayers are naturally with you and your family at this time. After reading the above obituary, all I can say is...what a life he lived! He had a successful career, beautiful family, and his music, fishing and motorcycles. There is a lot of sorrow here on his unexpected passing, but also an outpouring of loving memories from many. Whenever I go outside I find myself listening for the sound of music coming from next door. We'll miss him.

Dear Rhoda, I'm so sorry to her of Bob's passing. He was music right to his core, especially barbershop music. So many years have passed since Colin began singing with the Fox Valleyaires and I learned what being the mother of a barbershopper meant ( I left my white shoes hanging on the doorknob). Bob couldn't help with occasions like that but he always had the music well in hand. My condolences, too, to Todd and Stacia and your extended family. My prayers for all.
Judy Vekasy left a message on October 25, 2015:
Bob and I had a "mutual admiration society". To accompany him and his beautiful voice was a privilege. Many times, the first run-through was performance ready. He was a real pro and I never met anyone like him. I feel that anything I say about him is an understatement. God bless you, Rhoda, and ease your sorrow.

God be with you all.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Director Bob's passing. As former member of Sebring Heartland Harmonizers (barbershop chorus), it was my honor to have been taught by and sung with a Music Master. Now you have another chorus to be with...in Heaven. Sing Well, my friend...and especially with a smile.
