We knew Rita to be a strong and intelligent woman, and a loving mother and grandmother to her family. She took good care of herself and was fortunate enough to maintain her physical health almost to the end. We enjoyed Tom and Rita's visits through the years at our home BBQ'S, and we will miss you much Rita (may you rest in peace.) Love Joan & Ed Gallagher
My condolences in the loss of such a remarkable woman. I have fond memories of being in her class. She taught me to read, interpret and appreciate Shakespeare, no easy task with high school students. She touched many lives.
Rita was married to my brother Tom for 25 years and the perfect person for him. She was always a joy to be around because of her kindness and true love of mankind.
I know she is in a better place and hopefully watching the next Notre Dame win with Tom.
Love,
Your Brother In Law

She was my Homeroom teacher and my teacher as well. She was a great person and educator.

Rita was a caring teacher that demanded excellence from her students. I remember her well, and appreciate what she taught me about English, and about working hard to achieve results.
Rita's daughter, Christine, is married to our son, Ryan. We enjoyed her so much and loved spending time with her! So blessed that we spent last Christmas with her - she was such a joy and I will always remember her as she was that day! We want to extend our sympathy to Bob & Dan and their families, as we've not had contact with them! Christine & Carolyn and families, you know how sad we are for you!
Missing the heck out of you my special friend Rita!!!! Love you so much, so glad that I was blessed with getting to know you! :-) Prayers out to your loving family............... they truly are a wonderful bunch!
To a great lady who raised four great kids, and my terrific mother-in-law, you will be missed Rita.
