Rita M. Mitchell

Rita M. Mitchell, age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2018. She was born in Milwaukee on August 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Earl and Monica (Galewski) Larson. Rita married Ellis Mitchell on March 2, 1946 and they later relocated their family to Menomonee Falls. In 2008, Rita moved to the Fox Valley. She worked for the telephone company and was a member of the AT&T Pioneers for many years. Rita enjoyed caring for and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: John (Ginny) Mitchell, Kathy Mitchell, Patrick (Linda) Mitchell and Stephen (Leslie) Mitchell; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson and a sister-in-law, Karin Larson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis; siblings: Cy Larson, Earl (Ann) Larson, Anita Larson and Bob Larson.

The funeral mass for Rita will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church (324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha) with Pastoral Leader, Mary Krueger and Fr. Jim Hablewitz officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the USO, Gary Sinise Foundation or secure.DAV.org. Rita will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Menomonee Falls.
