Rico Carrasco, 47, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton. He was born on November 14, 1973, in San Agustin Atenango, Mexico, the son of Apolinar and Reina (Gonzalez) Carrasco. Rico has owned Rico’s Family Restaurant in Freedom for 15 years. He was a great husband, extremely loving father, good brother, and friend to many. Rico will be remembered most for being very humble, generous, giving, hardworking, and selfless. He enjoyed cooking, helping others, doing fireworks on the 4th of July, and traveling to Mexico to visit family. Rico was very warm, welcoming, friendly, outgoing, witty, and always smiling. He was united in marriage to Laura Dryer on June 22, 2002, at the Apostolic Truth Church, Appleton.
Rico is survived by his wife of 19 years: Laura; 3 children: Erick (Jasmine Berry), Analeigh, and Adalyn Carrasco; 2 grandchildren: Oliver and Elliott; his parents; a maternal grandmother: Manuela Cuesta; 6 siblings: Oliva (Javier), Elva (Reynaldo), Consuelo (Mariano), Bertha (Javier), Rosario (Silvestre), and Floricel (Sahid) Carrasco; mother-in-law: Georgia Dryer; father-in-law: Robert (Becky) Dryer; a sister-in-law: Heather Dryer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Rico was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Raymundo Carrasco and Ana Gomez, and maternal grandfather: Cresencio Gonzalez.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Apostolic Truth Church, 2720 N. Kesting Ct., Appleton. Visitation will be on Friday at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Laura Carrasco, for the benefit of their children.
Rico’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the ICU staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton, as well as their family and friends for their love and support over the years.
