Dick Nelson, age 74, passed away early Monday morning, April 30, 2012, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Dick was born in Waupaca on August 5, 1937, son of the late Harold and Anita (Luedtke) Nelson. He was married for a time to Patricia Hando, and later married Judy Leach. Judy preceded Dick in death in 2006. From 1961 until 1962, Dick served in the United States Army, but most will remember him for his many years of work as the manager at Industrial Towel in Neenah. He also had a career driving bus for Lamers Bus Lines. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, bowling, working on cars, and spending time with friends.
He is survived by two children: Lisa Meyer and her fiancé Bob Much of Dale and Scott Nelson of Neenah and his fiancée Terry Reavis; a grand-daughter; three step-children: Jeff (Barb) Leach of Appleton, Jamie Wilcox of Menasha, and Joe (Laura) Leach of North Carolina; several step-grandchildren; and a sister: Judith (Thomas) Winch of Waupaca, as well as other relatives and friends.
The family is hosting a reception on Saturday morning, May 6, 2012, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 3212 S. Oneida Street in Appleton. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
