Richard H. Kane

March 5, 1917 — January 24, 2011

Richard H. Kane, of Neenah, formerly of Kimberly, passed away at home on Monday, January 24, 2011 with his family at his side. He was born on March 5, 1917 in Oconto Falls, the son of the late Roy and May (Gonion) Kane. Dick graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1935. He served one year in the Civilian Conservation Corps. and 4 ? years in the Army Air Corps. as Staff Sergeant during WWII. On July 22, 1950 he married Rita VandenBoogaard at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Kimberly. After 39 ? years of employment, Dick retired from Kimberly Clark in Neenah and enjoyed 31 years of retirement. He was a leader of Boy Scout Troop #44 for nine years and life-long member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post #60 of Kimberly.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of sixty years: Rita Kane; three children: Diane (Warren) Wolf, Onalaska; Debra (Joel) Franckowiak, Traverse City, Michigan and David (Patricia) Kane, Neenah; six grandchildren: Kara (Michael) Arnold, Kelsi (friend Kenny) Franckowiak and Korie Franckowiak; Jenni (Jude) Miron, Wendy (David) Mader and Matt (Krystal) Kane; four great grandchildren: Michael J. Arnold; Reese, Evan and Liam Miron; three brothers: Morrie (Betty) Kane, Floyd Kain and Wayne (Dorothy) Kain; two sisters: Marion Steffes and Mildred Mayer; four sisters-in-law: Mary Kain, Mary Kain, Bernadette Kain and Irene Kain. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by seven brothers, a sister, four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

The memorial service for Richard will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Don Schaefer officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:30 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to ThedaCare at Home Hospice are appreciated.
