Many childhood memories revolve around the Kane family. If it weren't for the robust Sheepshead games, I would have gotten much more sleep as a child! I wouldn't trade those memories for the world! Dick will be missed. My condolences to Rita and the Kane family.

Reading Richard's obituary brought back some fond memories of growing up on Maple Street next door to the Kanes. My sincere condolences to the family.

Grandpa Dick ~ Growing up, you were an active part of my life. You were there for many of my HAPPIEST childhood memories, from Grandparents day at school to summers up north at the cottage. Thank you for the countless sleepover parties and teaching me how to make your delicious home-made applesauce. You have been the most patient and gentle man I have ever met in my life. I will be missing you, always, with a smile in my heart. Love, Wendy

When I saw Mr. Kane's obituary I found myself taking a trip down memory lane. He was my junior high principal wasn't he? Having left a footprint on my soul, I remember him. Many, many years ago, but I remember him still. What a kind man. Rest in peace Mr. Kane, thank you for gracing my life with your impeccable leadership!
