Richard G. "Rich" Widmann

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Richard (Rich) Widmann our loving father, husband, grandpa and friend on June 9, 2021.  Rich was born on May 6, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI to Kurt J. and Dorothy (Menke) Widmann.

Rich married the love of his life, Suzanne Russell, on November 20, 1971.  He was really looking forward to celebrating his 50^th wedding anniversary this year.  Rich and Sue enjoyed many trips together.  They loved to travel with their family and have done many trips, including visiting the Smoky Mountains, traveling Route 66, enjoying Hawaii and visiting Civil War battle grounds.

Rich will be missed by his six siblings:  Kurt E. Widmann, Hartford; Michael (Sandra) Widmann, Wales; Stephen (Dorothy Parks) Widmann, Menomonee Falls; Mark (Joan) Widmann, Hartland; Jeffrey (Donna) Widmann, Naperville, IL;  Mary Jo Widmann, Greenfield and his sister-in-law Barb Russell, Wellington, CO.

Rich is survived by his beloved children:  Brian (Kristy) Widmann, Oshkosh; Jeffrey (Melissa) Widmann, Shiocton and Amanda (Kyle) Schneider, Greenville.

He was further survived by the eleven lights of his life his precious grandchildren: Myles, Alexis, Hailey, Hannah, Brinley, Macey, Austin, Riley, Zachary, Isla and Maddoc.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Christopher Widmann.; and his brother-in-law, Ray Russell.

A Memorial Service will be held at noon for Rich on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton, WI 54911. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 AM to the time of service. Please dress casual as Rich would have liked.

In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen two charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital due to Rich’s love for his grandkids and Friends of the Smokies due to Rich’s love of the Smoky Mountains.
