RICHARD E. GITTER
Custer, SD

Age 51, died March 17, 2001 in Custer, SD. Rich was born November 30, 1948 to Earl and Jennie (Blong) Gitter in Appleton. He faithfully served in the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1971.
He is survived by his parents, Earl (Jennie) Gitter of Appleton, two sisters, Barbara Gitter of Appleton and Ann (Jay) Grosskopf of Appleton; two brothers, James (Cate) Gitter of Stevens Point and Steven Gitter of Stevens Point; four nephews, Joshua Gitter, Zackary Gitter and Seth Gitter all of Minneapolis, MN and Kyle Grosskopf of Appleton; one uncle, Bob (Rose Marie) Kobs of Kaukauna; five cousins, Karen (Tony) Marx of Kaukauna, Susan (Bill) Haens of Sherwood, Margie (Dwaine) Shepherd of Appleton, Robert (Colleen) Kobs of Kaukauna and John Kobs of Kaukauna; and a special friend, Dennis Lasaka of Hot Springs, SD.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mervin Blong and Ceil Grassell and Richard and Ella (Heiman) Gitter.
The memorial service will be 1:30 PM Saturday, March 31, 2001 at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 East Lourdes Drive, Appleton with Fr. Harold Berryman officiating. Friends will be received at CHURCH on Saturday from 12:30 PM until the time of service.
Interment will take place at Historic Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
