FALK, REGINA VIOLA “JEAN” (nee HOLLENBACK)

Regina V. Falk, 86, of Appleton, passed away on March 25, 2010 with her family at her side. She was born on August 4, 1923 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Frank P. and Margaret (Lanser) Hollenback. On June 12, 1947 she married Stanley W. “Red” Falk at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. Jean served her country with the Navy Waves during WWII as a parachute rigger. She took great pride in knitting afghans and donating them to the Harbor House. Jean was known for her “green thumb” and enjoyed tending to her flowers and house plants. She was a member of the Appleton Motorcycle Club Inc. Ladies Auxiliary. Jean and Red loved their time in Florida.

She is survived by her children: Donald F. (Kay) Falk, Appleton; David J. Falk, Appleton and Diann M. (Bill “Willy”) Williams, Greenville; granddaughters: Mandy (Pat) Clemons and Tina Falk; sisters: Betty (Bob) Hickinbotham, Appleton; Dolores (Joe) Schmidt, Appleton and Marge Balza, Appleton; sister-in-law: Jen Hollenback, Appleton and brother-in-law: Leroy (Pauline) Heimerman, Appleton; step grandchildren: Angie (Brian) Chapman and Jon Van Marter. Jean is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley W. “Red” Falk; her brothers: Francis (Mildred “Mickey”) and Jerry “Curly” Hollenback; sister: Marie Heimerman and brother-in-law: Robert Balza. Jean was further preceded in death by her husband's brothers and sisters.

The memorial service for Jean will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 29, 2010 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN CHAPEL with Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 am until the time of service. Memorials are appreciated to ThedaCare at Home Hospice.
