Randall A. Neumann

August 13, 1961 — January 9, 2010

Randy Neumann, of DePere, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning, January 9, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Randy was 48. He was born in Appleton on August 13, 1961, son of Ralph and Jo-Ann (Wheeler) Neumann who reside in Greenville. Even as a young boy, Randy had a love for racing, and built many speedy go-karts to challenge other boys in the neighborhood. His mechanic ability grew over the years, and eventually Randy became a skilled mechanic and worked at Christy's for quite some time. Later, he owned his own garage for eight years. Randy longed for his health to improve so he could return to doing what he loved – working on and racing cars. Randy met his future wife Patti Johnson at the racetrack – the couple married June 4, 1993. Of course, racing was Randy's life. He became a well-known stock car driver and was also well known for his expert mechanic skills. Randy was a hard-working man who earned everything he had and was always thankful for the support of his family, friends, and sponsors. The racing community will miss their friend terribly.

Randy is survived by his loving wife: Patti Neumann of DePere; his parents: Ralph and Jo-Ann Neumann of Greenville; his five children: Daniel and Mariah Neumann at home; Rachel Neumann of Appleton; Kristin Neumann of Kaukauna; and Heidi Neumann and her daughter Harmony of Appleton; three sisters: Kim (Bill Anderson) Leech of Little Chute and her children Loran, Andrew, and Rodney; Kari (Mark) Springstroh of Appleton and their daughters Sharaea, Matayla, and Kiarra; and Kelli (Alan) Rice of Appleton and their daughter Alana; his paternal grandmother: Bernice Neumann of Appleton; Patti's mother: Bonnie Johnson of Appleton; Patti's father: John Johnson of McFarland; Patti's sisters: Sara (Paul) Wait of Washington, Illinois and their daughters Brooke and Lilly; and Sue (Dean) Bowden of Dale and their daughter Kendra; and Patti's maternal grandmother Ardith Nortman of Black River Falls. Randy was preceded in death by an infant son Randall Phillip, a brother-in-law Dean Johnson, a nephew Thad Leech, his paternal grandfather Walter Neumann, and his maternal grandparents Loran and Alice Wheeler.

The funeral service for Randy will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

Randy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
