Ken Bastar left a message on September 27, 2021:
My heart is sad with the realization that Ralph’s crisp wit and engaging sense of humor will be music to my ears no longer. I was introduced to Ralph in his home office in 1976, where I had been cold-call summoned for the first of what would eventually become hundreds of graphic design projects we would produce together over these many decades. From that very first warm greeting and meeting, I knew this was a man I wanted to get to know better, and not simply a client/supplier relationship. And after countless meals or cocktails together, often going over project details, I saw the full measure of Ralph Allen and his engaging personality. He was always passionate in his position on any topic discussed, and while we rarely disagreed, when we did, I always respected his argument, and more often than not, came over to accept his logic and perspective. That’s truly a rarity, because I’m usually convinced of the soundness of my own position before engaging in a conversation with him, but RAS could manage to present his thinking in an equally thoughtful, impactful and funny way, softening my defenses. At this point in my life, it’s unlikely I’ll meet his equal in this lifetime. To each of his family members and loved ones, it was a cherished honor to be considered a friend over the years. This new hole in my life now may take the whole of my life to accept, but I’ll never forget the man and his friendship. Rest in Peace ol’ dear friend.

Jane .We are so saddened to hear about Raplhs passing . I was very fortunate to have spoken with him on the phone the week before .We spoke about a lot of things past and present. The humor was never better as we talked. Ralph was a true inspiration for me and my sales career. He was the best at what he did, and I always admired him for his style, honesty, witt and knowledge. Myself and Lisa are here for you should you need anything. There will be a day when we all can have another glass of wine and million dollar chicken with Ralph! You have our greatest sympathy.... As many of us know the passing of a loved one is difficult to say the least. I love my Dad, I miss my Dad, I will continue to miss him until we reunite. I know my Dad was proud of me and to honor his hard working life I will strive to continue making him proud, He'll just have a clubhouse view now. It's so strange because at 52 yrs old I suddenly feel like when I was a young child waving to each airplane that flew above saying "Hi Daddy!". I love you Dad for all your guidance up until your last moments. Until we embrace again...Forever in my heart! Love, Jennifer Ann
