Phyllis J. Szarkowitz

Phyllis J. Szarkowitz, age 65, of Kaukauna, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. Phyllis was born on July 11, 1944, in Wausau, to the late Arthur Pike and Pearl (Burns) DuPuis. She married Alvin Szarkowitz on August 20, 1966, in Rothschild. She was a strong loving wife, mother and grandmother who especially enjoyed the time spent with her family. Phyllis enjoyed oil painting and cooking.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Alvin; her children, Mark (Sally) Szarkowitz, Kristine (Scott) Roberts, Scott (Jennifer) Szarkowitz, Chad (Amy) Szarkowitz, Ryan Szarkowitz, and Shannon (James) Leedle; her grandchildren, Cole, Shannon, Jordan, Alexis, Riley, Amanda, Miranda and Kaila; her sisters, Barbara Radtke and Debbie (Mike) Maki; and her brother, Tom (Ruthie) Pike. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Maurie Radtke.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may gather at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in her name.
