WYDEVEN, PETER

Peter Wydeven, 89, of Little Chute, departed on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Grand Horizons Assisted Living in Appleton. He was born in Uden, The Netherlands on October 10, 1921, he was the beloved son of the late Adrianus and Cornelia (van Lankveldt) Wydeven and the husband of the late Hendrica (VandenHoogen) Wydeven. He attended grade school and trade school in Uden and as a young man married Hendrica in 1947. In 1959, the couple moved to the United States with five children; another son was born in the United States. He worked for Miller Masonry as a master mason from 1960 until he retired in 1986. He is survived by five children: Cornelia “Ellie” (Bob) Luckey of Chicago; Gerarda “Gerrie” (Tim) Nolan of Atlanta; Adrian (Sarah Boles) Wydeven of Cable, Wisconsin; Peter (Gail Mathews) Wydeven of Lenexa, Kansas and Richard (Rhonda) Wydeven of Alexandria, Virginia; a son-in-law: Richard Madigan of Tempe, Arizona; seven grandchildren: Britton Carr House, Michael Nolan, Benjamin Wydeven, Todd Wydeven, Corey Madigan Jaccarino, Brien Madigan, and Vanessa Wydeven; three great grandchildren: Addison House, Eliza House and Siena Jaccarino; two sisters: Marie Croymans and Mien van den Heuvel and one brother Martin Wydeven, and his special friend Susan Wysocki.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hendrica “Riek” Wydeven (VandenHoogen); a daughter, Jacoba “Jopie” Madigan, brothers, Harry, Jan, Theo; and sisters Truus and Bertha.

The funeral liturgy for Peter will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly. Father David Beaudry will be officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again at church from 10:00 am until the time of mass. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at the funeral home at 7:00 pm Wednesday.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire staff at Grand Horizons in Appleton. Your care, kindness, and compassion went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you all so very much.
