Dear Briones Family, my most sincere and deepest sympathies. I had the priviledge of knowing Pedro, always in the context of the scholarship programs, fund raising events and at Menasha High (when I met with students there). It is obvious the love that surrounds him by those who were close to him, and also it is obvious the love that exuded from him towards all he came in contact. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy lives on in ALL his family members and ALL those he has so deeply touched. Love, ~Mito

My condolences. Pedro was an encouragement for me to coach soccer when soccer was not as big a sport around here as it is now. His encouragement made me stay involved. May Jesus be with all your family during this time of mourning.

Sir, "Papi" Briones, I was sad when I heard of your death. I am truly grateful for the beautiful legacy you left. Meeting you, and hearing you quote fine South American poetry by heart, I knew you were someone of depth and stature. The story I have read of your life only deepens this sense. You inspire me to reach out to others with all my energy. Thank you for the gift of your family which you have given to the United States--especially because your life made possible the life of Damaris Elizabeth Briones, my precious wife-to-be. May the Lord Jesus magnify your own efforts and faith so that eternity alone might measure the beautiful fruit of your life. I pray comfort, joy and shalom be upon your family as they mourn the loss of their patriarch and friend. With affection and sympathy, Reverend Kristian Carlson Chaplain Candidate Program Officer LTJG, USNR-R

Dear Family, My heart is with you today. I remember Grandpa and his motor home, the giant tree in the front yard that would shine bright on Christmas, the family dinners and the love that he shared with me and my sisters. It is hard to say goodbye because there is so much more of life to share with him, but I know that he is resting now and enjoying his time with Grandma. Grandpa, thank you for giving your life in service to others, your family and God. Thank you! I love you family too! I will be praying for all of you. Damaris

Dear Family, We so wish to be with you right now during this time. Grandpa Papi was a man who always looked to other's needs before his. I remember him always going around making sure everyone had what they needed, making sure they were having a good time, and I always remember him having a great attitude towards life. He will be greatly missed. I thank God that Grandpa had the opportunity to live such a blessed life, and was able to serve the Lord in such great ways. I am a Menasha High School grad and played soccer for Mr. Briones in junior high. I'm sad to hear of his passing, and wanted to extend my condolences. I remember playing for Pedro and having so much fun. Hearing him yell from the sidelines "Pooch up! Pooch up!" and clowning around with us giggly girls...As a former soccer coach myself, I understand time and effort he must have put in to make our season a lot of fun. Thanks for letting me share!

Although I only spoke with Pedro on a few occasions at church, the light and love that was in him was so apparent. He had an infectious smile and a gentle spirit. Just seeing him made me smile. His love of the Lord was always there to be seen and it shows through his children too. I will miss him. I can only imagine what a joyous place he is in now. I will be praying for the family.

Our deepest sympathies to your family. What a nice tribute in the obituary to Pedro. Victor was a favorite soccer coach of our son, and we will be eternally grateful for everything he did for him. Victor deeply enriched his love of the game, and I'd like to say he became one of St. Mary Central's best goalies. It was overwhelming to read that Pedro also loved that position, and we can now better understand Victor's intense love of the game and goalies in particular. In fact, as SMC was competing at state in Milwaukee one year, we were shocked to see Victor run out to the goalie box at half time for a little one on one with our son, something we all will remember. It is clear Pedro has affected many people in wonderful ways, and his true rewards are finally coming to him in heaven.
