Pearle D. Ehlert

Age 97, Pearle Ehlert was called to the Lord's side on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. On October 19, 1913, Pearle was born in Meadow, South Dakota, to the late Jake and Christine (Albrecht) Preszler. As a young woman, Pearle worked as a pharmacy assistant, and on May 25, 1941, she married Rev. Gerhardt Ehlert, also from South Dakota, at St. Mark Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown; he preceded her in death on December 27, 2000. The couple served the Lord in the Dakotas and Minnesota, as well as at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac and Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha. During their twenty years in Fond du Lac, Pearle taught school at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran School there.

Pearle is survived by two children: Paul (Gianna) Ehlert of Byron, Wisconsin and Nancy (Rev. Ronald) Szep of Little Chute; and two grandchildren: Jason Ehlert and Christine Szep. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers and sisters, and several of their spouses.

The Christian Funeral for Pearle will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday, April 8, 2011 at ST. LUKE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 705 E. Greenfield Drive in Little Chute with Rev. Ronald Szep officiating. Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday afternoon from 4:30 PM until the hour of the worship service.
