Paul J. Muehlenbein

Paul Muehlenbein, of Appleton, age 76, passed away with his family at his side on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on April 13, 1937, in Menasha, the son of the late Andrew and Anna C. (Bayer) Muehlenbein. On March 31, 1959, Paul married Ione Van Zeeland at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. He was employed at American National can for 42 years. Paul was a faithful and active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Appleton. Ione and Paul spent thirteen years in Arizona during the winter months. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Packer fan. They enjoyed spending time with their friends, and playing sheepshead with their card clubs. His family meant the world to him, and they loved spending time together and playing board games.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ione Muehlenbein; children; Cheri (Steve) Bushman and Mark Muehlenbein; grandchildren: Stephanie Bushman and Kyle Muehlenbein; sisters and brothers: Marcella Peterson, Helen Slinger, John (Mickey) Muehlenbein, and Frank Muehlenbein; and sister-in-law, Beverly Muehlenbein. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers: Agnes (Lawrence) Kohl, Robert Muehlenbein, Margaret (Jim) Harness, and Joe Muehlenbein; sister-in-law, Alice Muehlenbein; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Peterson.
The funeral liturgy for Paul will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive in Appleton. Fr. Donald Zuleger will be officiating. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until 11:15 am. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
