Oscar "Whitey" Hildebrand

Oscar “Whitey” Hildebrand, age 89, passed away peacefully at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton on April 26, 2018. Oscar was born to the late Herman and Edna Hildebrand, Sr. on September 24, 1928, in Butternut, Wisconsin. He had worked as a carpenter and general contractor for most of his working life.

Oscar is survived by his six children and their families:

Linda (Dick) Van Den Bosch and their children Tammy (Tom) Roberts, Patty (Dennis) Tarket, Anna (Kevin) Bourassa, and Adam Van Den Bosch;

Sharon May and her children Mandy (Jason) Schlaffer and Christine (Scott) Barry;

Gail (Steve) Van Dera and their children Melissa (Jim) Marvin and Nick Van Dera;

Carol (Jay) Vander Zanden and their children Travis Hildebrand, Chad Vander Zanden, and Skyla Vander Zanden;

Ron (Deb) Hildebrand and their daughter Karissa Hildebrand;

Shelly (Jerry) Laird and their son Matix Englund.

There are also fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Other survivors include four brothers: Herman (Donna) Hildebrand, Jr., Kenny (Roseann) Hildebrand, David (Sue) Hildebrand, and Bernie (Janet) Hildebrand; and two sisters: Diane (Pat) Derby and Judy (Bob) Paessler. There are also many nieces and nephews.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Carl Hildebrand, three sisters: Norma (Rene) Gossens, Rosella (Wilbert) Gerrits, and Ruth (Joe) Vander Wielen, and a granddaughter: Rebecca May.

Services for Oscar will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly, with Deacon Bud Klister officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Werner and his staff at the Kaukauna Clinic for all the care and compassion shown to dad over the years. We will be forever grateful.
