Age 88, died on Monday, November 5, 2001 at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his family; following a short illness with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Oscar was born on December 3, 1912, son of the late Herman and Hulda (Plamann) Woldt. On January 23, 1936, he married Bertha Van Dera at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute, and they enjoyed over 60 years of marriage; until she preceded him in death in 1997. Oscar was employed as a mill worker at Riverside Paper for 36 years. He also served as a crossing guard in Grand Chute for 18 years. Oscar loved hunting and fishing; especially perch fishing on Pelican Lake. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Oscar will be greatly missed by his daughter, Arlene (Donald) Krull, Appleton; 2 sons, Ervin Woldt; Stanley “Butch” (Sandy) Woldt, all of Appleton; 3 brothers, Raymond (Martha); Melvin, all of Appleton; Herman Jr. (Imelda) Woldt, Little Chute; two sisters, Anita Berg, Appleton; Lila (Ray) Wittlin, Black Creek; 9 grandchildren, Tim (Debbie) Krull; Vicki (Gary) Nackers; Sharon Krull; Julie (John) Miller; Gregg (Linda) Woldt; Marcia Woldt; Jeffrey (Maureen) Woldt; Kenneth (Diane) Woldt; Scott Woldt; 12 great-grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Nackers; Kaitlyn and Caroline Krull; Joshua, and twins Adam and Zachary, Tyler, Kaylee and Kyle Woldt; Crystal and Nicholas Much; 2 brothers-in-law, Henry (Sylvia) Van Dera; Arthur Hendricks; and his sister-in-law, Marie Van Dera. Oscar is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth, Gordon and Leslie; his sister, Bernice “Sis” Stein; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Oscar’s Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2001 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, November 8 from 4 until 8 p.m., and again at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Parish Prayer and Scripture Service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank Fr. Falk and the fourth floor oncology nurses at AMC, for their kindness and concern.
