Age 75, passed away Monday, August 20, 2001 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Peabody Manor in Appleton. Orv was born in Unity, Wisconsin on July 27, 1926, son of the late William and Esther (Schultz) Domer. On September 25, 1950, Orv married the former June Vanden Heuvel at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. He and June celebrated fifty years of marriage just this past September. The couple resided in Kimberly until 1991 when they relocated to Little Chute. For nearly forty years, Orv was employed by the Kimberly РClark Corporation in Kimberly first in the coating department and later in the wood room. Ill health forced his retirement in 1983. During those same years held a second job at Biggar’s Motel doing landscaping and other odd jobs. In his retirement, Orv worked at the Piggly Wiggly in Little Chute where he thought the world of his supervisors and his co-workers. Since 1950, Orv had been a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and also served as a volunteer fireman in Kimberly in his younger years. Orville served a brief time in the US Army and was a former member of the William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion. Orville loved fishing, and for many years, Orville and June vacationed at Pelican Lake where many will remember Orv as “Mr. Perch”. In recent years, Orville grew to love watching and feeding birds, and enjoyed the flowers in his yard. He was avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and of the Chicago Cubs. His most treasured times were spent visiting with friends and neighbors, and spending time with his family. He will surely be missed by his granddog Wrigley.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years: June Domer of Little Chute; two daughters: Dee (Dick) Klein of Kimberly and Lynn (Jayson) Nelson of Darboy; his godchild and granddaughter: Kathy (Jon) Klein РBormann; a grandson: Michael Klein currently serving in the United States Air Force; a great-granddaughter: Ally Bormann; a brother-in-law: Russell Bruhn of Marshfield; two sisters-in-law: Jane (Henry) Havinga of Kimberly and Pet Vanden Heuvel of Appleton. Orv is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and by many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; by June’s parents: John and Harriet (Van Zeeland) Vanden Heuvel; by a brother Marvin Domer; by sisters Merle (Richard) Colby, Lyla (Bob) Burke, and Mona Bruhn; and by a brother-in-law: John E. Vanden Heuvel.

The Fisherman’s Prayer

I pray that I may live to fish…….
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.
