I met Nate through years of classes as a fellow Physics major at Dartmouth. We got to know each other better as we both joined DB in the 2007 graduate class. I'll always remember Nate, his love of learning, and as a kind and gentle friend who helped me through some difficult times early on in our careers. My love and condolences to those he left behind.

Dear Clarke Family, We were sorry to hear of Nate's struggle and death. I (Sandi) was on Council at Prince of Peace when he was preparing for his Confirmation and got to spend quality time with him. What a fine young man. Sorry that we did not keep in touch after he graduated from high school. Our condolences to you all.

Dear Clarke family, fond greetings from a blistering hot Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa. We had the privilege of meeting you while stationed at a sugar mill in Mozambique, and formed a lovely friendship with Sarah. We cannot imagine how you must be trying to cope with the finality of Nathan's illness, but rest assured that we are lifting you up to God for strength and comfort at this time. Much love, Chris and Jacqui de Wet

I’m saddened to learn of Nate’s passing. Nate and I both played the viola throughout our middle and high school years. I had the pleasure of sharing 1st stand with him through nearly all them. I will forever cherish the time we played a duet together during solo & ensemble, scoring a 1-Star and exchanging a proud yet very humble smile as we were state-bound. Although we grew apart after our high school years, reading through this well written piece and everyone’s comments reminds me of Nate’s extraordinary character and kindness. My thoughts and prayers to the Clarke family and all of Nates friends as we remember and celebrate his life.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by this news. I will always remember Nathan as a student who cared He was an intelligent, mature, pleasant and well respected student. (Appleton East HS) I'm not surprised at all of his accomplishments along the way. The whole family is such a loving, caring example of what one's life can be and how we can all take this family and Nathan as a loving expression of a high strong spirit of LOVE they have shared with all! With prayers, blessings and music in your lives forever.

I had Nathan my first year teaching English at Appleton East, and he spoiled me. I'll always remember his kind soul, unpretentious demeanor, and brilliant mind. I've yet to encounter another writer as talented as Nathan. My condolences to the Clarke family: Nathan was a special person, and he will be missed.

I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I had the great gift of getting to know and work with Bethany at Amazing Grace Preschool in Lexington, MA, last school year. She spoke so highly of her beloved brother, Caleb! We recall the morning that Caleb and Bethany biked all the way to school in the morning together, and it was clear that they shared an adventurous spirit, and enjoyment of outdoor sports! May God be with your family in a special way, providing and caring for each one of you.

I will always remember Nathan as one of the kindest people I have ever met. Wise beyond his years and a gentle soul, his intelligence went well beyond the walls of any classroom. (Although I will also remember how incredibly smart he was). One of the rare people who could "speak" well with numbers and words, he was always friendly to everyone and anyone who could call him a friend was truly lucky. Although we lost touch since high school, I will always remember him fondly. My thoughts and prayers for his family.
