HACKER, NANCY M.

Nancy Hacker, of Appleton, age 52 years, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. She was born June 4, 1955 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Murcile (Anderson) Walker. Nancy graduated from Appleton West High School in 1973. She received her baccalaureate and masters degrees in education from UW-Oshkosh. Nancy taught special education, following the footsteps of her mother Murcile Nelson. She taught 23 years in the Menasha School District, initially at Butte Des Mort Elementary School and then at Maplewood Middle School. Nancy enjoyed the company of her pets, Bogey and Forrest, playing the piano, reading, movie watching and cross stitching. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going to the many sporting events and extracurricular activities.

Nancy will be sadly missed by her children: Nicholas and Kristen Hacker; brother: Frank Walker; niece: Caroline (Scott) Pelkin and nephew: Chad Walker. She will be further missed by other relatives and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother: Murcile (Axel) Nelson, father: Lawrence (Maxine) Walker, sister-in-law: Janet Walker and special friend: Ingvar Holmqvist.

The funeral service for Nancy will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME – TRI COUNTY CHAPEL with Rev. Roger McQuistion officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
