Our mother, Nancy Susan Langenhuizen, at 63 years young, went to heaven on Thursday, March 8th, 2018. She was wrapped tightly in the arms of her three daughters, Melinda, Catherine, and Christina while they had a chance to tell her how much she was loved and say their goodbyes. The disease that stole her away…

I cannot express how grateful I am to have had the honor to work for and with Nancy at Sports Connection. I may have been young, but I was working my dream job during the years I was at Sports Connection. And what better person to work with? Nancy would let me play Mariah Carey Christmas music - not everyone let's you do that! :) Nancy will always be remembered as a woman who can warm a room with her smile and presence. An incredible mother, grandmother, businesswoman, friend, and mentor to myself and many others. Thank you Nancy, you were a motherly figure to me in my life. I appreciate you and know there are 100s of lives you've touched through your contribution to the world. You will be deeply missed. With love, Liz Grier

What a beautiful story of Nancy's life. It depicts precisely her love of family, her love of life and how she touched so many lives in so many wonderful ways. Always sincere, always there for others. She obviously passed those wonderful traits to her three beautiful daughters. While she will be missed by many...her memory lives on through each one of you. Always remember those fun and special moments ...those things that made your Mom, your Mom! You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong....your Mom would want it that way. While I won't be able to join you on that day for her celebration...I will be thinking of you and will wear something bright and spring-like in her honor! Hugs....

Nancy was a wonderful neighbor to us. She was a strong and caring "Mom" and loved her kids and grand-kids beyond measure.Wise. Smart. Talented.Kind. Not enough words to exactly say how much she shared with us. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved her-especially her beloved girls.

Condolences to Nancy’s family. I grew up with Nancy when she lived on Helen St in Kimberly. She would say that I was having my birthday before on July 3rd. She will be missed by many. Beautiful memories of her by her girls.

Beautiful reflection of your Mom... she "sewed herself some wings..." Tears of sadness and joy in my eyes- though she left us too soon, she truly lived her life to the fullest. Grateful to have known her and just recently shared a very happy memory with her. Wish I would've hugged her tighter and longer, but I know her presence is with us even now, surrounding us with LOTS and LOTS of love. I will be there Saturday wearing my brightest, happiest colors just as Nancy would've wanted. Love you all so much!!

Nancy - Thank you for being open arms to me and countless others of the Fox Valley soccer community. You didn't mind that I would wander around your store(s) getting lost in soccer thought. You had smiles and a giving soul to everyone that made the bells on the door jingle. Our paths continued to cross on fields as I had the wonderful joy of working with Catherine as her summer soccer coach and college soccer sports information director. Thank you for all that you gave to those around you, especially your amazing daughters and grandchildren. You will be missed, and fondly remembered.

It was my pleasure to have known and volunteered with Nancy for youth soccer in the Fox Cities. I always appreciated her calm demeanor and ability to look at the whole picture. Nancy was truly one of my favorite people I was fortunate to spend time with in soccer.

While I only knew Nancy briefly as a young tween girl while having the privilege of growing up with her daughter’s as friends of myself and sisters, I remember very much the warmth she radiated. I always loved being in her presence and the comfort she emitted. She was one of the good ones! Girls I’m so sorry you lost your mother this way. Please know you are in my prayers. For some losses are too great for words. Thinking of you all.

I have many memories of my Aunt Nancy that go way back to when I was about 7 years old and visiting her in Connecticut. She was one of the most creative people I knew. She used to make smocked items. I have a purse with wooden handles and my name smocked on the front of it. She was an amazing seamstress. I mostly admire her bold attitude personally and professionally. She took a risk and opened a sporting goods store. It may not have turned out like she wanted, but I truly admire her for jumping into a small business. She also made chair covers for weddings that were absolutely beautiful. I even helped set them up at one wedding. A few people have told me that I remind them of Nancy. What a spectacular compliment! I never got to spend enough time with her, but I will treasure every memory I do have. Nancy, I hope you rest peacefully in heaven and give Grandma & Grandpa a big hug and kiss from me. I love you!
