Nancy Ann Lison

March 24, 1951 — March 17, 2011

Nancy Ann Lison (Kettner), 59 of Appleton, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born March 24, 1951, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Michael and Mildred (Westphal) Kettner. Nancy married Chris Lison on November 7, 1970.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Nancy loved life and unselfishly committed herself to the care of her family and others as a nurse. She called Sunday “Family Day” and it was her favorite day of the week. Nancy spent this time not only with her family, but also with her extended dog family…her grand puppies; Max, Sophie, Lacey, Hunter, Maggie, Abby, Belle, and especially her dog Sarah.

Nancy was a member of the Lionesses, and loved being a Cub Scout Den Mother to each of her sons. She also enjoyed camping, cooking, playing cards and dining at the Pioneer II.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Chris; daughter, Stacy (David) Evenson of Neenah; three sons, Thomas (Cathy) Lison of Appleton, Jesse (Michelle) Lison of Kimberly, and Chad (Heather) Lison of Appleton; five grandchildren, Josh Evenson of Neenah, Brady Pongratz and Alaina Lison both of Kimberly, Ashley and Wyatt Lison of Appleton; one brother, Paul (Paula) Kettner of Appleton, two sisters, Dorothy and Jean; and three brothers, Carl, Jerry, and Ken; Nancy is further survived by two very special friends, Debbie and Gene Sonkowsky. She was preceded in death by her two step-brothers, Donny and Tom.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at ST. THERESE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Morrison Street at Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton, with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, Menasha, on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. There will be a Parish Prayer service at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

Nancy's family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Thompson and Larry Wiggins from the Cancer Treatment Center of America, Zion, Illinois; and her nurse Amy, at Appleton Medical Center, for their care and compassion.
