Nancy A. Hintz

August 26, 1933 — March 16, 2015

Nancy Alice Hintz was born to Wilbur and Viola Turkow on August 26, 1933. Her favorite bible passage was John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” She joined her Lord and Savior entering eternal life on March 16, 2015. Nancy met the love of her life, Martin Hintz, in high school. They were married on May 17, 1952 enjoying over 62 years together raising their children, spending time at their cottage on Summit Lake, as “snowbirds” in Bradenton, Florida, cheering for the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and their grandchildren's activities, square dancing, fishing, playing cards, “puzzling” playing Bingo, and spending time with family and friends. When the children were grown, Nancy returned to work at Lawrence University, Shirley's, then at Knights Jewelers. Martin and Nancy were charter members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and religious education classes. Nancy enjoyed traveling, making wedding cakes, sewing, knitting, crocheting and Swedish weaving. Each of her sons and grandsons has a keepsake fur bowtie that she crafted from remnants of her mother and grandmother's wraps. Crocheted towel hangers, dish cloths and scrubbies fill the kitchens of every family and were traditionally replenished each Christmas. Each family member has a crocheted Christmas stocking with their cross stitched name.

Memories of Nancy will be forever treasured by those she left behind: her husband, Martin Hintz, four children: Martin (Sharon) Hintz, Michael Hintz, Laurie (Jerry) Schneider, and Ellen (Paul) Biesterveld, 15 grandchildren: Michael (Jenniffer) Hintz, Andrew (Judith) Hintz, Kurtis (Sarah) Hintz, Joel (Katherine) Hintz, Daniel (fiancé Tiffany Rivette) Hintz, Anna (Matthew) Damico, Elissa (fiancé Andrew Bricker) Hintz, Heather (Joshua) Heisler, Kyle (Amanda) Schneider, Christine (Trent) Haldiman, Mark (Lacey) Schneider, Tyler (Kate Williams) Biesterveld, Drew (Christina Peterson) Biesterveld, Reid Biesterveld, Ross (Julie) Biesterveld and 19 great grandchildren: Thomas, Abbigail, Samuel, Charles, Oliver, Jack and Katelyn Hintz, Annabelle and Nora Hintz, Willa Damico, Madelyn, Josie and Allie Heisler, Brinley, Macey and Riley Schneider, Gia Haldiman, Justin Schneider, and Olivia Biesterveld. She is further survived by two brothers: Larry (Doris Larson) Turkow, Alan (Lucy) Turkow, three sisters: JoAnn (Robert) Ackman, Julie (Charles) Luepke, and Cindy Hatcher, her brother-in-law Jack (Nancy) Hintz, sister-in-law Nancy (Paul) Tusler, and numerous extended family members.
