Nadine Verhagen

Nadine Rose Verhagen, age 81, of Kimberly, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 24, 2015 at Fox River Nursing and Rehab. Nadine was born in Appleton on November 11, 1933, daughter of the late Arnold and Marie (Franz) Zwiers. She graduated from Kimberly High School and shortly after, on September 3, 1955, she married Gerald Verhagen. Before starting her family, she worked on the sorting floor at the paper mill.

Nadine loved every aspect of caring and loving her family; she enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning. She also enjoyed long walks throughout the neighborhood. After Gerald passed in 2001, she began reading to the students at West Side Elementary School. She was a woman of great faith and pass this trait on to her family.

Nadine is lovingly survived by her seven children: Deborah (Dean) Wirth, Vicki (Mark) Schmalz, Cindy Hoffman, Jeff (Wendy) Verhagen, David (Karen) Verhagen, Jodi (friend Kris Burton), and Julie (friend Kevin Konetzke); grandchildren; Lance (Tiffany), Brent (Jenn), Danielle (friend Jeremy Schilling), Christopher (Ashley), Benjamin (Cassie), Jacqueline, Amber, Holly (Jacob), Hope (Lance), Nathan, Jake, Joe (Lindsay), Pam (Jacob), Sarah(Kyle), Brandi, Cathy, and Kyra; great grandchildren: Evan, Eva, Nevaeh, Nora, Hayward, Kendel, Nolan, Zachary, Katelyn, Jenna, Jillian, Evan, Audrey, Scarlett and Aiden; sisters: Pam (Don) Romanesko and Linda (Don) Opsteen; sister-in-law: Linda Zwiers. She is further survived by special friends Joe Smedberg, Ken Acherberg, Audrey and Paul Jansen, Betty and Jerry Schmann, and Paul Rollefson. Nadine will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Marie Zwiers, her loving husband: Gerald Verhagen; brothers: Bob (Corky) and Vance; sister Zada (Jim) Siebers, and friends Lavern and Allen Barenwald.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Ave, KIMBERLY. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
