Monica Rae Minzlaff

July 31, 1957 — October 12, 2021

“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Rev.2:10)

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. Giver of hugs and kisses. Monica let her love for her Savior show every single day, and touched many lives with her endless energy and passion to share that love. She enjoyed time spent with friends during her “girls” retreats and looked forward to hosting holiday meals and events with family.

Born July 31st, 1957 to Delbert H. and Frances (Borek) Gepner of Hartland, Wisconsin, she was baptized on September 1, 1957, and was preceded in death by her Father “Del”.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9).

Monica is survived by her mother: Frances Gepner; sisters Nancy (Mike) McGillis, Beth (Craig) Stapleton, Lenice (David) Miller, and Rose (Mike) Wolf; a brother: Ted (Ramona) Gepner.  Monica married Jay C. Minzlaff on June 16th, 1979, and was blessed with 3 children and 6 grandchildren: Rev. Matthew C. (Melissa S. Frey) Minzlaff and their daughter Sophia Grace; Aaron J. (Angie L. Stark) Minzlaff and their daughters Haley Marie and Kayla Rae and son Jonathan Jay; Rachael Rae (Minzlaff) and Tim H. Perry and their sons Bradlee Jay and Carson Timothy.

“Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Mat. 28:20b)

Teacher and Friend to countless students, Monica served Christ’s church and His little lambs at: St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Niles, Illinois (WELS), Our Savior’s in Zion, Illinois (WELS), Wisconsin Lutheran School in Racine, Wisconsin (WELS), Princeton Evangelical Lutheran School in Princeton, Minnesota (ELS), and Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Neenah, Wisconsin (WELS).  Monica was loved by all, but gone too soon.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
