Rev. Harvey & Nancy Kandler left a message on September 17, 2010:
We thank God for Milford's life, for all that he was to all of you, for his selfless giving to our country in WWII, for his giving of succulent meat products to our community, for his part in the life of Immanuel Church. God be praised for this sharing of life amongst us. As you mourn, remember that Jesus wept when Lazarus died, and he weeps today with all of us when our loved ones die. In our hearts and ears, he whispers "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." And out of that comfort comes strength to go forward for the living of these days. As it says in John 13, "He loved them to the end." That is, those who are dear to us, as well as ourselves. And in that love we can live out our lives faithfully and know that He will take care of us also when the bell tolls for us, for he said, "I am the resurrection and the life. All who die in me shall have life eternal." May you live on in that hope. Nancy and I give our sincere sympathy to each of you.

Our deepest condolences to Milford's family. He was one of my biggest influences when I worked with him at Eiting's Grocery Store in Kaukauna in 1960. I would have liked to have seen a lot more of him in later years. God Bless You All. Dan Rasmussen Watertown, Wis.

NANCY & SUSIE KEARNEY left a message on September 13, 2010:
TO OUR DEAR FRIENDS OF MANY YEARS, WE ARE SO SAD TO HEAR OF MIL'S PASSING. HE WAS A VERY SPECIAL HUSBAND, FATHER AND FRIEND, ALWAYS WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND A SHOULDER TO LISTEN TO YOU. I HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF ALL OF THE ROEHRBORNS, BUT THE ONE THAT STANDS OUT IS WHEN I WAS 16 YEARS OLD I WORKED FOR LILAS & MIL AT THEIR HOME FOR A SUMMER WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. THUS OUR FRIENDSHIP OF 55 YEARS HAS GROWN OVER THE YEARS. THE FIRST DAY I WORKED FOR THEM, I STAYED FOR DINNER AND THOUGHT I WOULD POUR MIL'S COFFEE IN HIS CUP FOR HIM. WHEN I POURED THE COFFEE, THE LID OF THE COFFEE POT AND THE GROUNDS CONTAINER FELL IN HIS CUP. SPLASHING HOT COFFEE ALL OVER!!! I WAS MORTIFIED AND HE IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY, BUT WOULD NOT LET ME POUR HIS COFFEE ANYMORE. AGAIN, EACH OF YOU KNOW THAT LILAS & ALL OF YOU ARE IN OUR HEARTS AND THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. I WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH YOU SOON . LOVE, NANCY & SUSIE
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
