Milford Arnold Roehrborn

Milford Arnold Roehrborn, age 87, of Wrightstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, September 10, 2010. He was born May 14, 1923, the son of the late Walter and Emma (Witthuln) Roehrborn. Milford married Lilas Peterson on August 11, 1945. Together they had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Milford was a gentle, loving husband and father. He was an avid gardener and one with nature. Milford loved to polka, enjoyed cooking, watching the Brewers, Packers and the Badgers. He especially loved his dog, Kirby.

Milford was a meat cutter, master sausage maker and owner/operator of Roehrborn Meats in Kaukauna. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. as an Aerial Gunnery, Radio Operator and Mechanic from July 1942 to October 1945. Milford was a P.O.W. for 22 months in Stalag 17B in Krems, Austria. He was State Commander of the Wisconsin Ex P.O.W. for 1 year, Commander of the Northeast Wisconsin Ex-P.O.W. Chapter for 10 years, Commander of Electric City Post 3319 in Kaukauna and Commander of Urban Klister Post 436 in Wrightstown.

Milford will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Lilas Roehrborn of Wrightstown; children: Kathleen (Ken) Van De Hey of Greenleaf, Suzanne (Mark) Vande Hey of Kaukauna, Deborah Laux of Sauk City, Linda (Richard) Schroeder of Combined Locks, Milford Jr. (Susan) Roehrborn of Seymour, Phil A. (Ronald Surh) Roehrborn of Spring Green, Charles Sr. (Linda) Roehrborn of Kaukauna, Carolyn Romenesko (Tom Vock) of Milwaukee, Ronald (Jean Vande Hey) Roehrborn of Kaukauna, Richard (Derrick Perez Jr.) Roehrborn of Kaukauna; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Roehrborn; sister, Audrey Van Heeswyck and daughter-in-law, Pam Kaster.

Milford is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Roehrborn, granddaughter, Stacy Lynn Vande Hey, son-in-law, Richard Liebergen, brother, Gerhardt Roehrborn and sister, Virginia Sager.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 510 Sullivan Avenue, Kaukauna, with the Rev. Melinda Feller officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 2:00 p.m until the time of service.
