Mildred Hostettler, age 92, passed away peacefully at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Mildred was born in Kaukauna on January 6, 1920, daughter of the late Lynn and Evelyn (Spanner) Parker. On October 11, 1941, she married Robert Hostettler at St. Mary Church in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death in 2002. In her early years, Mildred enjoyed travel and reading. Bob loved to fish on Lake Winnebago, and of course that resulted in Mildred becoming an expert at cooking his catch!
She dearly loved her family, and enjoyed each and every moment spent with them. Those she leaves behind include her three children: Karen (Tony) Schuh of Little Chute; Gary (Helen) Hostettler of Menasha; and Jim Hostettler of Appleton; three grandchildren: Paula (Bill) Heckert of Little Chute; Diane Schuh of Freedom; and Mark Schuh of Little Chute; four great-grandchildren: Michael Brochtrup and his best friend Christina Mader; Kim Brochtrup and her special friend Mike Brown; Alan Heckert; and Amanda Heckert. There is also a great-great-granddaughter: Hailey. Mildred is also survived by a sister-in-law: Alice Heller of Chilton and a brother-in-law: Melvin (Esther) Halbach of Mount Calvary. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father: Ted Felzer; and several in-laws: Martha Hostettler, Clarence (Bernice) Hostettler, Conrad (Inez) Hostettler, Ruth (Joe) Wagner, Dorothy (John) Hermans, Esther Halbach, Denver Heller, Eunice (Al) Birkholz, and Delphine (Ed) Ruffing.
The funeral liturgy for Mildred will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, November 23, 2012 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to everyone at St. Paul Elder Services for the wonderful care Mildred received during her years there. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
