It was too late to know you passed away, Dr. Judd. I just posted your happy birthday comments today, and knew you passed away last year from one of our colleage in Pensylvania. I have been the States for 25 years after your supervising program in Nakajo, Niigata. It was wonderful time and a lot of memories popping out now. Thanks to your support even after my graduation, I am here and live on. I wish I could talk about "Recreation" more here under cross-cultural atmosphere. I am still working in travel industry, and send a lot of students to Japan for study abroad now. Last year, we sent 15 students to the former SIUC-N campus and enjoyed Japan as we did in 20 years ago! I continue to pray for all of your surroundings who you love. Amen!

Dr. Michael Judd was a wonderful man who clearly had an impact upon the lives of so many people. In my case, I had the pleasure of working with Michael in AAHPERD/AAPAR; and, always appreciated his passion and willingness to serve others. I know Michael will be dearly missed... and, he and his family, remain in my thoughts and prayers.

My heartfelt condolences. It has been quite a number of years since seeing Coach Judd at SUNY Binghamton. He was an amazing coach, joyous...friendly... And drove me to reach my goals. I swam faster under his coaching than ever. I was truly shocked and saddened to see this notice. I know he will be sorely missed! We all have very fond memories of our travels with Coach Judd, you were lucky to have him as your family. Thoughts and prayers to you all.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Mike was my swim and water polo coach at SDSU from 77-81 and those were some of the best times of my youth. I recall many road trips and good times on those teams and had high hopes of someday greeting him again. So very sad he has left this plane but I am quite certain he is keeping everyone entertained up there and talking story with the ascended masters. Because he was a DU alumni, the swimmers and polo players were always welcome at the "house" with open arms. Those were days I will never forget! Thanks for believing in me Coach Mike and may your legend live on in the hearts and minds of all the athletes you mentored.

We are so sorry for your loss of father and friend. However his greatest gift will live on in the forms of Mackenzie and Connor; two young adults any parent would be extremely proud of. Keep your faith during these difficult times, and know that those that surrounded you on the mission trip are another family you can always turn to. Remember that as long as there are memories in your heart someone is never truly gone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mackenzie, Conner, and Beth.

Beth, Connor and Mackenzie, I'm so sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers. I first met you when you moved into our little Sherwood community. We had summer library hour and SAYSO (Sherwood Area Youth Soccer Organization) for our youth to play soccer. SAYSO was founded by parent volunteers and coached by anyone who gave their time and talent. Michael was a co-coach with me where I learned so much from him. I coached so our children had a team and practices close by. Michael brought the early fundamentals to the program and helped me learn so much along with our young athletes. He loved to teach! Michael shared his love for sports with us all in addition to so many of his life stories. It's my pleasure to have known him and grown from him. God Bless you all!

Sooo sad to hear this news! I remember Michael with very fond memories at SDSU. I was lucky enough to see and catch up with him at a reunion of fraternity brothers plus Little Sisters of Delta Upsilon in San Diego several months ago. May he rest in peace and his family feel blessed by the wonderful memories...

To say Mike Judd will be missed is an understatement of enormous proportions. "Judd" was a character of the first order and the life of every party he attended. He was a people person, an athlete, a teacher, coach and an accomplished scholar, and even so, Mike carried almost no ego at all. He was a consummate friend and a great fraternity brother who traveled thousands of miles over the last 40 years to be with his friends and family, time and time again. When he got to where he was going, he would stroll into the room with a toddy like he owned the place. All he needed was the cap and jacket and you'd have thought him the Commandant of the Pacific Fleet. Suffice to say, Mike's easy-going smile and sardonic sense of highbrow humor will be forever missed and fondly remembered. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and his children and the dozens of Brothers who loved him dearly. Bon Voyage...

To Michael's Family, We have never met but my wife and I moved in right across the street from Michael a few years ago. He was the first to welcome us to the neighborhood and we soon became fast friends. His kindness and generosity were second to none. We looked after each others homes when we traveled. We talked a lot about each others families and how proud he was of his two children. When ever we were both outside, our chores always got delayed because we always got to talking in our driveways! To say we are both stunned of this sudden and unexpected news is an understatement. Michael was always active with most any outdoor activity. We will miss him dearly as a great neighbor and friend. Our deepest condolences go out to all of you. If we can be of any assistance to you in any way...please let us know. Heaven just received a very good man.

To Michael's family: We live right next door to Michael and have for the past few years. We will miss him so much. Every day I still go outside and look over, expecting him to be in his yard. He loved his yard and took such good care of it. He was such a wonderful man and so caring. We are still in shock over his death and will always remember him with his smiling face, waving and saying hello, and was always happy for a chat. We are so sad he's gone.
