I admire the way your family gave Mike the special care he needed at home these past few years. And your willingness to see his final wishes granted by following through with the organ donor program is so selfless. Mike Bennett was, and still is, A HERO.
Jeff Vilker left a message on June 28, 2018:
My sincerest apologies for your loss, I know just how great it is. I was one of the lucky many that got to play Little League for Coach Bennett- 1980-84 (Valley Advertising (best Pittsburg Pirate Uniforms ever and ADP in Linwood). When you played Little League in Appleton back in those days, you were a family. I have a wonderful and loving Mother (Elaine) and Father (John), back then I had to dads- Mike was that damn good of a coach and mentor. My life was on a decent path before playing under Coach, it was on a great path after. I’m fortunate to Coach my son’s Little League team today, I would not have made that choice without the lessons learned from Coach Bennett (and Coach Fane during All Stars!). My self esteem soared during those 4 wonderful years. My parents would say the same, they enjoyed those years just as much as I did, mostly cause Mike made us all one big family. The world was a better place when he was walking (pitching BP) on it. Much love, Jeff Vilker and Family.

So sorry for your loss but thankful you were able to save the lives of others through organ donation. Your selflessness has brought hope for a future to those families.
