Melissa Ann "Missy" Wojciechowski

WOJCIECHOWSKI, MELISSA A. “MISSY”

Melissa Wojciechowski, of New London and Monticello, Florida, passed away on Palm Sunday. She was born on May 28, 1954 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the daughter of Herman and Jeanne Frances (La Vanway) Deckert. Melissa was an active and enthusiastic dog trainer and Hunt test participate. Missy was passionate about her Standard Poodles and actively participated in AKC and HRC Hunt Test. She and Ed are developing a line of Hunting Poodles and she had achieved several performance titles on her dogs. Missy was a member of the Tallahassee Retriever Club, North Florida Amateur Retriever Club, Hunting Retriever Club Foundation, Horicon Marsh Retriever and Wisconsin Amateur Retriever Club. In Iowa and Illinois, Melissa received recognition at the state level for significant contributions to establishing adult literacy programs.

Melissa is survived by her husband of 36 years: Ed Wojciechowski; step-sons: Mark Wojciechowski, Oshkosh and Matt Wojciechowski, Washington DC; grandchildren: Max Wojciechowski, Omro and Nora Flanagan, Omro; her mother: Jeanne Frances Sanford, Benton Harbor, Michigan; brothers: Mark (Diane) Deckert, St. Joseph, Michigan; David (Mary Ellen) Deckert, San Diego, California and Vern (Dr. Patricia) Deckert, El Cajon, California; and Duffy, Taz, Kodi, Heather, Chief, Gina, Gunner and Pearl. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Melissa will be held at 12:00 noon on THURSDAY, MAY 5, 2011 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Rev. Jim Beck officiating. A time of visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Pink Whistle Society (HRC Foundation and cancer research), 101 Paul Simon Drive, Waterloo, Illinois 62298.

A second memorial will be held in Monticello, Florida for Missy's friends. Ed will continue the planned move to Florida and the establishment of dog training facilities please visit www.marshandglen.com.
