Age 92, passed away on Friday night, July 18, 2008 at Appleton Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born on January 20, 1916 in Freedom, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Smits) Romenesko. On October 13, 1936 she married Raymond H. Kempen at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom, and the marriage was blessed with 11 children. Raymond preceded her in death in September of 1959. On August 30, 1975 she was united in marriage a second time to Jerome Seaver at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. With this union Mary welcomed 5 more daughters into her family. Jerome preceded her in death in February of 2004. Mary enjoyed traveling and camping in Door County with Jerome; playing cards, especially Canasta, 9 Pack, and Sheepshead, their dogs: Nipper and Benji, eating sweets, and time spent with her beloved great-grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her sons: Vern (Joan), Appleton, Leo (Vonnie), Little Chute, Bill (Dorothy), Appleton, Floyd (Dianne) Hollandtown, John (Angie), Combined Locks, Ray (Carla), Seymour, David (Debra), Appleton, Rick (Pam), Kaukauna; daughters: Germaine Hermans, Kimberly, Patricia (Dan) Buchinger, Kaukauna; step-daughters: Jan (Clark) Kromenaker, Neenah, Jo Ann (George) Schumann, Appleton, Mary (Lenny) Ritlick, Egg Harbor, Dorothy (Patrick) Heindl, Little Chute, Sally Ann Shipstad, Oregon; 35 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; 6 great – great grandchildren; 8 siblings-in-law, and her very special friends: Isie and Harold Winius, Kimberly. In addition to her parents and her loving husbands, Raymond and Jerome, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carla Mae Kempen, son-in-law, John Hermans Sr., step son-in-law, John Shipstad, 4 grandchildren, and 7 siblings.

Funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Spirit Parish – Kimberly (600 East Kimberly Avenue) with Father David Beaudry officiating. Friends may call at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home (204 East Kimberly Avenue) on Monday evening, July 21, 2008 from 4 until 8 P.M. and again on Tuesday morning from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass, directly at church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to The Covenant House and to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
