Mary Jane Goers

Mary Jane Margaret Goers, age 77, of Appleton passed away on Saturday October 8, 2016, at The Bridges of Appleton. She was born on March 18, 1939, in Shawano County, daughter of the late Carl and Margaret (Ascherbach) Scherbarth. She married Roger Goers on January 23, 1960. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2011.

Mary was employed at the Clintonville Telephone Company, Prange's, The Red Owl Grocery Store that she and Roger owned. She also cleaned private homes for many years.

She was an avid reader, wrote poetry, enjoyed going to church, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Mary is survived by her three children: Lisa (John) King, Todd (Kitsie) Goers, and Christopher Goers; four grandchildren: Kimberly King, Michelle Smith. Madison Goers, and Adam Goers; her sister: Betty Breitzman; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her two brothers: Arthur Scherbarth and Max Scherbarth.

The funeral service for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, E. Glendale Ave. Appleton, with Rev. Daniel Thews officiating.
