Mary A. Brehm, 90, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Brewster Village. Mary was born on December 3, 1922 to Charles and Christina (Messmer) Schaefer in Appleton. On December 31, 1942 she was united in marriage to Joseph T. Brehm at St. Joseph Catholic Church and together they owned and operated the Antigo Dairy Queen. Mary was well-known and respected for her artistic accomplishments. Her talent to create intricate hand and needle work was well known. Many of Mary's accomplishments are exhibited around the country. She was a loving wife and mother, devoted to her family and touched many lives. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary is survived by five children; Qathryn (Margaret Pittman) Brehm of Los Angeles; Michael (Michelle) Brehm of Appleton; Betty (Tom) Parish of Medina; Anna (Lars) Anderson of Appleton; and Patty (Chris) Heinz of Appleton; grandchildren; Samantha (Eric) Fritz; Michelle Brehm; Kaylen (Andy) Nichols; Jay (Brooke) Parish; Christina (Jeff) Seidner; Eric (Melissa) Anderson; Courtney (Justin) Anderson-Vincent; and Benjamin (Sarah) Strassman; and Jack Heinz; great grandchildren; Abigail, Maggie, Lauren, Charles, Samantha, Lily, Sophia, Liberty, Dylan, Nolan, Raegan, Jonah, Levi, Daemon Lars, and Griffin, a sister, Barbara Van Eperen, and a sister-in-law, Lillian Brehm, a friend, Karen Rosenhoover, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and two sons; George Brehm and Joseph F. Brehm and her brothers and sisters.
The funeral liturgy for Mary will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:30 AM at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence St. with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM.CAP officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St and on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass at the Church. Inurnment will be in the St. Edward Cemetery in Mackville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. The family would like to thank the staff at Brewster Village for all of the wonderful care they showed our Mom in her last years. Memorials may be made in her name.
