Allan Leicht left a message on April 6, 2009:
Marlene will always be held in my memory as a wonderful person and a superb musician. Her years as the MacDowell accompanist gave "class" to the chorus and her sparkling, joyful personality contributed much to our music. It is doubly sad that she will be unable to share in the "Diamond Anniversary" of the group to which she devoted so many memorable years. Her spirit still lives in all those she touched in such a positive way. She made the piano and the organ sing with an admirable talent. Her music will be missed but it pales in comparison to the gentle, humble, funny, caring person that was Marlene.

To the family of Marlene.....I had the privilege of teaching in Wilton and had Marlene in several classes..An excellent, purpose driven individual, who lived a Christian life...I also was able to have her in Sunday School class, and I know she is with the LORD, and with Jim and Irene and her brother and family..Praise the LORD for her life of serving HIM. Yours in Christ...Don and Donna Grensing....

So many years; so many memories! Rose Marie and I pray for future healing for everyone in the family. Rose Marie remembers the difficult Walooski arrangement of The Battle Hymn that Marlene played masterfully. I think of all the presentations and solos Marlene and I did with the MacDowell Chorus. May God bless the family, and be assured that Marlene is with God.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

In 2001 I purchased a new organ from Butler/Stevens, and made a new friend, a Christ centered musician. I have appreciated her sincere and honest business association and musical friendship. All praise to Jesus! Her gift of music has been a blessing to many, and especially to those of us who worked with her.

Dear Bob and family, Our sympathy to you. May God's comfort and peace be with you! I will always remember fondly our time together, when Dennis and I were in Appleton. Marlene was truly one of my favorite people! I talked with her last on Jan 9th, when I came upon a "dead" Rodgers organ in Merrill. I always tried to help her out with good "leads"...I contacted Dennis, too, and he was very sorry to hear of her passing. Marlene was a dear friend. She was a person who treated everyone alike -- rich or poor -- it meant no difference to her. She loved animals and we shared animal stories. I will miss her but have the little moose she brought me from Alaska on my printer to remind me of her every day. I loved her.

Dear Chad,Michelle, and family, Revelation 22:1-5 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on the other side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the trees were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the lamb will be in it, and His servants will worship Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun,for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

Dixie Knowles left a message on April 6, 2009:
We certainly send our prayers and deepest symphathy to all of you. I have many, many memories of the two of us as little girls in Iowa. Marlene is my cousin and for many childhood years we shared our love and passion for music and I always had great admiration for her hard work and her talent. She taught me so much. While it is a very sad time, I love focusing on the fact that there is a huge reunion of the Sorenson and Christensen families in heaven and she is basking in the presence of Jesus! Ps. 73:26 "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Love and blessings, Dixie and Rod Knowles

Dear Bob, It is at times like this that we are frustrated with the "groaning" of this world. Marlene has experienced a release from that (Romans 8:23). We cherish the memories of our "new" friendship with the both of you over the last few years (in the context of another "groaning"). We pray that God's grace will continue to be obvious through you in the next days! We love you!
