Markus Andrew "Mark" West

September 24, 1960 — October 4, 2021

Appleton – It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Markus Andrew West, 61 years young, in Appleton, WI on October 4, 2021. Mark was born on September 24, 1960, in St. Paul, MN and lovingly raised by Rosalie (Benedict) West and Roger West. He graduated, class of 1978, from South High School in Minneapolis, MN.

Mark was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend. He was kind, giving, genuine and loved with all his heart and soul; the ultimate giver of unconditional love. He was someone who knew just how to fix things… problems, situations… whether physical or emotional in nature. You could call him anytime and he would be there listening, supporting, and providing strength. He was forever proud of his family, children, grandchildren, and his relationships with family and friends.

Mark was passionate about his job and the amazing people he worked with at NXC Imaging for almost 40 years. In his time off, Mark was an accomplished outdoorsman/hunter and enjoyed his travels. Among his favorite destinations were the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in North Dakota, the relaxing beaches of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, fishing and visiting good friends in Saskatoon, Canada and, at the peak of his list, Australia. He was a lifetime learner with endless curiosity about all things. He dreamed BIG, without limitations, and believed in taking a positive approach… devoid of any negativity. His eclectic, goofy personality was larger than life with an infectious, jubilant laugh. You could always pick out his distinct bald head in any crowd, wherever he went! He was a determined, underprivileged kid from the south side of Minneapolis who dreamed BIG and, after A LOT of blood, sweat, and even some tears… he was very proud to have made it BIG!

Mark is survived by the love of his life, Bonnie Hesselman; his father: Roger (Sharon) West; his children: Sarah (Doug) Fuerst, Toni (Joshua) Serbus, Quintin (fiance Katelyn Kolis-Bowler) West, Carrie Paluch, Stephanie (Jon) Desens, and Jonathon (fiance Meghan Henderson) Hesselman; 2 beloved grandchildren: Rae and Brayden Fuerst; 3 siblings: Dean (Deborah) West, Shannon (Craig) Homan, and Jacob (Susan) West; other relatives, and many friends.
