Mark L. De Bruin

April 26, 1946 — September 10, 2018

Mark L. De Bruin, age 72, of Combined Locks, passed away from lung cancer on Monday, September 10, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nora (Danner); sons, Jay (Deanna) and Jeffrey (Kelly); grandsons, Ryan, Aaron, Brayden and Grayson. He is further survived by his sister, Kristen; brothers, Philip (Maryann) and Neil (Stephen); in-laws, Roger (Ione) Danner, Judith (James) Clark, Sandra (James) Tews and many nieces and nephews other relatives and dear friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his infant twin sons, Brian & Jason; parents, Carl & Grace and mother-in-law, Doris Danner.

Mark spent most of his career working for Outagamie County, first as Director of Developmental Disabilities and lastly as Director of Health and Human Services. Upon his retirement he enjoyed volunteering with the Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton. Visitation will follow the service 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Military honors will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be given to the Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities.

Special thanks should be given to Dr. William Gunther, Dr. Yao and all the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, 7th floor Theda Care-Appleton, and St. Paul’s Elder Hospice staff and other staff who assisted Mark with comfort care and treated him with dignity and respect.
