Marion C. "Marty" Morris, Ph.D.

Marion Morris, age 80, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Matthews of Wrightstown. He was born on October 14, 1932, in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas and Zelma (Worley) Morris. Marty served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He received his Bachelor Degree in Science, a Master Degree in Physical Chemistry, and his Ph.D. in Polymer Science, all from the University of Akron. Marty was employed at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, prior to his employment at Kimberly Clark Corporation. On March 31, 1978, he married Janet Heinlein, she preceded him in death on February 15, 2000. Marty and Janet enjoying traveling all over the world. He loved to fly air planes and had a passion for fine art.
Marty is survived by his sons: Matthew (Sandy) Morris, Candor, New York; Timothy Morris, Deerfield; daughter-in-law: Pam Morris, Akron, Ohio; grandchildren: Sam Morris, Jeremy Morris, Jessica Morris, and Jacob Morris: Katie (Josh) Leggett and Zechariah Morris. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Morris.
The funeral service for Marty will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Wichmann Funeral Home downtown chapel. Rev. Stephen P. Savides will be officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
