Marilyn A. Tease

July 5, 1930 — January 15, 2015

Marilyn Tease, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2015. She was born in Appleton on July 5, 1930, daughter of the late Owen “Art” and Mary Louise (Massey) Roberts. She was a 1948 graduate of Kaukauna High School and continued to be an anniversary class correspondent for many years. On September 9, 1950, she married Kenneth “Buck” Tease at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Marilyn and Ken were charter members of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She was an active member of the Ladies Society, frequently volunteering to serve funeral meals, working at the parish picnic, or helping wherever needed. She loved baking, especially orange chiffon cakes, cooking, reading, traveling, and playing bingo. Marilyn retired from a job she loved after 16 years at the Times Villager newspaper, where she was a typesetter/proof reader. But her favorite times were spent with loved ones and their families, especially when she could prepare a large holiday meal.

She is survived by her husband: Ken Tease of Kaukauna; five loving children: Mary (Bruce) Feurig of Appleton; Bill (Holly Miller) Tease of Kaukauna; Jim (Juli Hoffman) Tease of Kaukauna; Kathy (Rich) Wallace of Darboy; and Tom (Sue) Tease of Kaukauna; thirteen grandchildren: Jennifer (Mark) Hazaert, Michael (Tara Bauer) Feurig, Ashley (Travis Wilson) Tease, Andrew (Shawn Hannemann) Tease, Rachel (Eric) Ludwig, J.J. (Hana Steffel) Tease, Gina (Aaron) Green, Amy (Chris) Timm, Chris (Hollie Van Dyn Hoven) Wallace, Shaun Meehan, Melissa Crosby, Brittany (Joe Barnhart) Tease, and Benjamin Tease; there are also two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Elizabeth Hazaert, and two more on the way.

Marilyn is also survived by her dear cousins: Dick (Marie) Powers, Wilfred (the late Joan) Powers and her sister-in-law, Gloria Grode. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother: Dorothy Roberts; an infant son: Kenneth; an infant sister: Joan Marie; and her aunt Thelma Powers along with Thelma's children; Sherman Powers, Lorraine Powers and Ken (Gerry) Roberts. She is also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law: Roland Grode, Harold (Josephine) Tease, Sylvester (Alice) Verstegen, Harold (Rose) Verstegen, Raymond (Cecelia) Verstegen, and Clayton (Ann) Tease as well as her sister-in-law: Evelyn (Louis) Chizek.
