Age 90, passed away on Monday March 26, 2007 at Rennes Health Center. Mari was born May 14, 1916 in Clearwater, Kansas, daughter of the late Zell and Cecile (Buckingham) Matthews. In her early years Mari lived in Kansas, Florida, and California, where she met John T. LaRocco, whom she married in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1999. Mari enjoyed reading novels, and watching classic movies, most notably “Naughty Marietta” (1935). In the mid 1940’s, she was trained to pilot a small plane.
