I've known Marie and the family since I was a boy in Rhinelander. Always a warm, loving, inviting Mother and friend to everyone. She had a wonderfully rich life that, through her children and extended family, will live on with the same dramatic affect she had in life. She'll be missed by any who knew her. Love, Peggy & Steve Carstensen.

Mother I am so glad that I was able to be your daughter-in-law & the fond memories of the good times. Family hunting drives with the ladies sitting in the back of the truck on hay bales sharing a bottle of Lombusko Wine while the men sat in the cab of the truck sharing their cans of beer. I am not only losing a mother-in-law but a dear close friend. Thank you for sharing your son Bernie with me. To the rest of the family thank you for letting me be your sister. God's peace and only good memories be with you.

Jean Chabre left a message on January 19, 2011:
Such fond memories I have of Marie and Bernie and the entire Stern family. We have shared a lot of good times together. Marie was such as warm, welcoming, vivacious person you could not help but like her. She had a zest for life that was contagious and she found the positive in everything. These are my recollections of a dear friend and her husband Bernie. You knew when you were in their presence there was going to be a good time and warm fellowship. I pray the Lord be especially close to all the Stern family. I know you will miss her acutely but she is inside of each and every one of you, as is Bernie. My warmest regards and condolences. Jean Chabre
