Marie E. Ruys

On Christmas Eve of 2017, Marie Ruys joined her loving husband Peter in the presence of our Lord. She was born on February 7, 1920 in Hollandtown, Wisconsin and lived most of her eventful life of ninety-seven years in Kimberly, a place that she loved and which benefitted from her knowledge, generosity, and leadership.

Marie is survived by her five loving children: Maryanne (Tim) Weyenberg of Greenleaf, Wisconsin; Joseph (Kate) Ruys of Castle Rock, Colorado; Christine (Garry) Woodman of Morrison, Colorado; Chuck (Gail) Ruys of Darboy, Wisconsin; and Becky (Mike) Wendt of Greenfield, Wisconsin. There are also nine grandchildren: Elly (Mark Wibben) Weyenberg, Benedict (Sarah) Weyenberg, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Ruys, Juliana (Matt) Peterson, Suzanne (Steven) Tellefson, Adam Ruys, Daniel Ruys, Sara (Jacob) Boone, and Julie (fiance Michael Diesch) Wendt. There are also ten great-grandchildren, and two sisters: JoAnn Schneider of Cape Coral, Florida and Rosamond (George) Ebben of Kaukauna; and a sister-in-law: Joan Schneider of Kaukauna. Marie was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Minnie (Bruecker) Schneider, her husband Peter, brothers Rob (Marge) Schneider, Frank (Ann) Schneider, and Glenn Schneider; and a sister: Lorraine (Pat) Lennon.

The funeral liturgy for Marie will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at HOLY SPIRIT Parish, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly, with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Interment will in the church cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Avenue on Friday after 4:00 PM and again at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Visitation Friday will conclude with a prayer service at 7:00 PM

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers provided by Right At Home, and especially the extraordinary, loving care of the staff and caregivers of Helen's House, especially Kelli Melotte, RN. The family also wishes to thank a very special friend and neighbor, Ann Siebers, RN, for her love and tender care of both of our parents.
