Age 95, passed away at Oakridge Gardens in Menasha on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She was born in the Town of Vineland on March 20, 1916 the daughter of the late George and Adelaide (Geiser) Resch. On August 29, 1940 she married Alfred Brown at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served in Christian Mothers Society. Marie was proud to raise her family on the family farm. She enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, crocheting and will be remembered for being a wonderful cook and baker.

Marie is survived by her sons: Donald (Karin) Brown, Menasha; Eugene (Virginia) Brown, Newton Highlands, MA and Dennis (Theresa) Brown, Darboy; grandchildren: Jason (Angela) Brown, Neenah; Tanya (Jason) Combs, Menasha; Aaron Brown, New York and Sara Brown, Darboy; five great-grandchildren: Zachary and Zoey Brown; Lilly, Zennan and Gardon Combs; brother, John Resch of Appleton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; brothers: Fr. Julian C. Resch, Herbert (Marcelline) Resch, Harry (Melania) Resch, and Raymond (Hazel) Resch; sister: Mabel (Raymond) Michalkiewicz; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Resch.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, N341 Military Rd., Sherwood, with Fr. Michael Betley officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Marie's name is being established.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Oakridge Gardens and Heartland Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
