Marian C. Westphal

Marian Westphal, age 92, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Prairie Homes in Menasha. She was born in Menasha on May 29, 1921, daughter of the late Clarence and Erna (Syring) Sabrowski. Marian attended elementary and high school in Menasha. During her working years, she was employed by John Strange Paper Company, The American Red Cross, and the Menasha School District in food service.

Marian is survived by her daughter: Heather (Jack) Scheffler of Appleton; a son: Paul Westphal of Costa Mesa, California; three grandchildren: Jeffrey (Amy) Scheffler of Neenah; Jonathan Scheffler of Menasha; and Jodi Lee (Tom) Kilsdonk of Appleton; her great-grandchildren: Emily and Jace Scheffler; Forrest Scheffler; Karley, Camie, and Hannah Kilsdonk; a sister: Phyllis (Martin) Speidel; a niece: Pat (Bob) Julius; nephews: Kurt Speidel, Christian (Robyn) Speidel, and Bradley Westphal; and a brother-in-law: Eric Kitzman. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her son David Westphal, her husband Ernyl Westphal, sisters: Audrey Westphal and Lois Kitzman; and a brother: John (Dorothy) Sabrowski; and a niece Sue Nadolney.

A celebration of Marian's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 300 Broad Street in Menasha, with Rev. Steven S. Billings officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will visit at the church on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Marian's family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Prairie Home, House of Joy for making her part of their family and for their wonderful, constant care and concern for her well being. They enriched this time of her life. We would also like to express our gratitude to Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care for mom, and their wonderful support for our family during this time. A special thank you to all those who came to visit, those who prayed with and for her. She very much enjoyed those special moments.
