O'Connor, Marian A.

Marian Agnes O'Connor passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. She was born February 17, 1918, the daughter of the late James L. and Mary Ellen (Linnane) O'Connor. Marian was a graduate of St. Mary's grade school, Kaukauna High School, St. Norbert College and the Outagamie County Teachers College. After high school, she worked for the purchasing department at Thilmany Paper Mill for 30 years. She was a devoted third grade teacher at Holy Cross School. Following her retirement, she taught religion classes to special needs children. She had a love of music, played the piano beautifully and enjoyed being a member of Queen of Peace Choir. Marian was a devoted daughter to her parents and cared for them until their passing. She was a special aunt to all her nieces, nephews and their families.

Marian's lifelong avocation was researching her family's genealogy. She traced the roots of the O'Connor and Linnane families in Ireland and the United States. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and unwavering in her devotion to her Catholic faith.

Marian is survived by her sisters: Eileen Nagan of Kaukauna, Florence (Jack) Roberts of Kaukauna; special niece, Colleen (Gary) Neuman of Greenleaf; numerous other nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law: Marge O'Connor and Kay O'Connor. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Charles (Gladys) O'Connor, Clarence O'Connor, Earl O'Connor; sister, Peggy (Fred) Wick; nephews: Dan O'Connor and Philip Nagan and brother-in-law, Paul Nagan.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010 at HOLY CROSS PARISH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. Friends will be received at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
