January 3, 1926 — March 25, 2009

Margaret “Marge” Mae Weiss, age 83, of Appleton, went to be with her Lord in Heaven Wednesday afternoon, March 25, 2009 after a brief stay at Appleton Medical Center. Margaret was born January 3, 1926 in Tomahawk, WI to James and Edith (Gane) Gallagher. On October 1, 1949 Margaret was united in marriage to the late Leroy Weiss, he preceded her in death on July 4, 1961.

She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and attending Brewers and Cubs games. During her younger years she played women's basketball and continued that interest by watching women's college basketball. Margaret worked at Kmart in Appleton for over 20 years, a career she loved and made many special friends.

She was a faithful and longtime member at St. Pius X Catholic Parish. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family; she took great pride in her two wonderful grandsons.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Linda (Jim) Dorzweiler, Greenville, and their children: Matthew and Andrew (special friend Stephanie Brandt) Dorzweiler; her sister: June Brannegan, Brookings, Oregon; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in law; the Don and Addie Dorzweiler family; many nieces and nephews, close friends, and neighbors.

In addition to her husband Leroy, Margaret is preceded in death by her two brothers Fran (Margaret) and Don Gallagher; two sisters: Grace Hinterleitner and Ann Johnston.

A Funeral Liturgy for Margaret will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC PARISH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton. Fr. Thomas J. Farrell will be the officiant. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in Margaret's name.

Margaret's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at Peabody Manor and the Collaborative Care at Appleton Medical Center for their wonderful care and support. A very special thank you to her neighbors the Syring and DesChaine families; you provided her with such great care and were like family to her.
