Age 95, passed away at Appleton Retirement Community on Friday, December 2, 2011. She was born in Appleton on September 14, 1916 the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret Voss. One of the greatest days in Peg's life was meeting her husband, Louis Krejcha. Together they had seven children. He preceded her in death in 1958. She was fortunate to have found happiness with her second husband, Gay Lyscio. He preceded her in death after three years of marriage. Peg worked for Sears in downtown Appleton for many years. She was a wonderful homemaker and a very talented seamstress, and spent many hours knitting, crocheting, and needlework. Peg was a wonderful cook and provided many family favorites throughout the years. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sociable nature, independent spirit, and love of the Packers.
Peg is survived by her children: Larry (Sylvia) Krejcha of Mountain, Jerry (Judy Drumm) Krejcha of Appleton, Jean (Tom) Kelly of Oshkosh, Janie (Fred) Sonnenschein of Appleton and Kim (Tom) Cody of Appleton; grandchildren: Pam Remmy, Laurie Weyngaard, John Krejcha, Todd Krejcha, Jerome Krejcha, Maggie Kelly, Molly Sager, Paul Kelly, Nicholas Krejcha, Jennifer Lucas, Jill Balgie, Michael Balgie, Beth Raath, Ben Putz, Carly Cody and Jack Cody; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands; infant son, George and son, Louis Krejcha; grandson, Louis Krejcha, IV; and her sister, Jean Young.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM.CAP. officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family extends a special thank you to the warm and loving staff, “my girls,” at Appleton Retirement Community.
