Majel L. Sonnleitner, age 91, of Appleton, died on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Appleton Health Care Center, in the loving arms of her great granddaughter. She was born on December 14, 1919 in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Jones) Reinert. On October 18, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she married Frank Sonnleitner, who preceded her in death on February 11, 1981. Majel was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton and St. Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen, Texas, where she spent many winters. She worked at the VFW for many years and enjoyed dancing, bowling, camping, playing cards, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Majel is survived by her son: Paul (Sharon) Sonnleitner, Appleton; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, a great great grandson, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Sonnleitner and her sister, Velma (Alois) Fahrenkrug.

The memorial service for Majel will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

We wish to extend many thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Appleton Health Care Center who gave the best care to Majel.
