Age 78, died peacefully in her sleep on December 28, 2001.
She was born onMay 2, 1922, in Oconto. She married Scott Bailey, in their home town of Oconto, Wisconsin. As an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Magdalen volunteered her time by visiting the sick at Appleton Medical Center.

Magdalen is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (William) Black; granddaughter, Therese Black; grandson, Steve Black; all of Vancouver,
Washington. Also, granddaughter Jennifer Valentyne; and a great-grandson, Taylor Valentyne; both of Kimberly, Wisconsin. Two sisters Mary Agnes Larsen of menasha; and Ruth (Joe) Bikowski of Oconto.

Magdalen was preceded in death by Scott, her husband of 56 years.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, December 31, 2001, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Renaissance
and Rennes for the wonderful care and support shown to Magdalen.

A memorial fund is being established in Magdalen's name.
